The purpose of a Project

The most central role of the Project level is to act as anchor for the organizations Marketing activities. No Marketing activity can be created directly under a Plan, it has to belong to a Project. A Project contains the data and information required for a work group to collaborate in everything from planning and budgeting to controlling and analyzing certain parts of their marketing (as defined by the client’s chosen plan and project hierarchy). Each Musqot client can define a custom structure of their plan hierarchy, depending on how their company and operations are organized.

Defining your organizations project structure

How many different types of Projects you will want to work with, as part of a given Plan, is most likely depending on your chosen approach in the Plan setup:
  • If for example your organization works with all marketing as part of one single Plan, you are more likely to require a larger number of Project types in order to keep track of all your different activities.
  • On the other hand, if your organization has setup multiple Plans (one for each product or region, just as two examples) you will probably find it sufficient with a lower number of Projects types in each plan.
